I am the Precinct Committeeman for Caseyville 12 in St. Clair County, Illinois. This Locals site is my effort at building a voter-funded source of local political information. Even though I am associated with a political party, this online community is a place where all voters are welcome and ideas can be discussed with a goal of improving our offline community.

Expectations

As a participant in this community, I ask that you follow the Community Guidelines to help foster mutual respect among members:

Scope

Because the federal Legislative and Executive branches get most of the news coverage, this community will be focused at the State and lower political levels. I am in Illinois and ask that discussions stay focused on improving this state and county specifically rather than advocating for federal-level policies.

Community Guidelines

1. Discuss ideas and policies, not people. A person’s background and identity may shape their ideas but any disagreement should be with the idea, not the source or holder of it.
2. Salty language can either add flavor to a conversation or make it unpalatable. Be respectful of others when flavoring your speech.
3. This is not the place for posting of sexually explicit images or discussions. There are many other forums on the internet if that is your desire.

Violations of these Guidelines will result in removal of the offending post and a warning. Repeated warnings may be a basis for removal from the community.
